Super Stardust fans will certainly enjoy these modes, but if you're going to invest in both the game and DLC, may I recommend taking advantage of the special deal on PSN that bundles both the core game and DLC together for $15. The end result is a DLC pack that's enjoyable in its own right – and one that has its own batch of scrumptious PSN Trophies – but one that's also severely and confusingly overpriced. And finally, Twin-Gun, perhaps the least enjoyable mode, forces you to use the Vita's SixAxis functionality to move your ship in lieu of an analog stick, though both sticks now shoot, giving you twice the firepower. Impact Mode removes all weapons from your arsenal and instead has you using your ship's boost ability, and that boost ability only. Bomber Mode gives you only bombs to use, forcing you to navigate treacherous atmospheric terrain while rationing your supply of explosives. The three other modes run the gamut from fun to abstract, but all are worth a go. Then again, if you can survive for 10 minutes or longer, you get that aforementioned Gold Trophy. The game gets exponentially harder the longer you last, though. You can play with either Delta or Pure functionality, and the general idea here is to live for as long as possible. There, you're given only one life to live, but otherwise, the gameplay remains the same. The most enjoyable mode for me – and the one I'm most addicted to because of the elusive Gold Trophy it dangles in front of you – is Endless Mode. Those modes – Endless, Bomber, Impact and Twin-Gun – can be found not in the Mini Games menu where you might expect them, but under the Play menu instead. Coming in at only 100kb in size (indicating, of course, that the DLC was already built into the actual game), it gives you four new modes to try out. Ludicrous price point aside, though, the Blast Pack is a lot of fun. The beautiful chaos of Super Stardust Delta. Strangely priced at only $2 less than the price of the game itself, this DLC pack costs 80 percent of what the regular game will run you. Unfortunately, Super Stardust Delta's "Blast Pack" DLC doesn't come packing an equally cheap price point. ![]()
